SELAYANG CAPITOL COMPLEX (From Glory to Disgrace)
Year 1995-2005 SCC was better known as Selayang Summit Square. Business in the complex was good and many activities were carried out at week-ends.Year 2001 Perbadanan Pengurusan Kompleks Selayang Capitol was legally constituted and registered in Land Office.
Year 2005 Developer (IM) appointed P to be their manager running the management of the complex. It's understood that P started their operations with ' zero Base' and sinking fund was never handed over to P. Meanwhile, P bought the car park Lot (consists of 17% of total area) in the complex.
Year 2006 PL had internal conflict and local appointed directors were terminated. A new company,F immediately took over the running of Management from P. F then bought 63 parcels (13% of total complex area) in the complex. P increased parking fee to RM 2. Many shoppers and tenants were dissappointed about the increase. Year 2007 Persatuan Peniaga SCC was activated to look into well- being and running of the complex which was getting worse. IM (developer) appointed a new manager ,L to take over the running of management from Aug. 2007 with 'Zero Base' accounts. Reasons : F was never appointed by IM and government agency reminded IM that any company running management agency must possess licence from Lembaga Penilai.
Year 2008 According to L, F and P have never and refused to pay their share of management fee and as a result there was insufficient fund to operate the complex. Bintang was said to look for buyer of their business. Car park increased their parking fee to RM 3. Many visitors and customers were annoyed and decided not to patronise the complex. Pejabat Pos moved to Selayang Mall.
L were not performing and many queries were not answered. Many complaints were made to Government authorities and Persatuan pressed for the formation of MC.

Year 2009-2010 First MC council members were officially elected in Sept 2009. All members should be given the credits for job well-done and much sacrifices. All Operating costs were scrutinised and cut . Giant took over Bintang business from Aug 2010 but terminated their business operations in Selayang Capitol Complex from Feb 2011. Two big issues that has affected the business and crowd of the complex are: 1. Parking fee was the most expensive in Selangor. 2. P and F refusal to pay management fee caused insufficiency of fund to run the complex.
Year 2011 Second AGM for MC was conducted in January 2011. P was wound up in Feb 2011 and car park is now under the supervision of Insolvency Department. In order to survive , MC has decided to take stern action against defaulters. More owners are now paying. Major owners such as LTS, Six Happiness, Sagamerdu, and Lotus FiveStar are now the council members. Let's hope they can bring changes to the past glory. We might have temporarily settled the parking fee issue, now another bigger one has cropped up. i.e. there is no supermarket in the complex.
" Let's work together to bring changes to our complex"
